The UnitedHealthcare Children's Foundation (formerly MAMSI Children’s Foundation) -  http://www.uhccf.org/apply.html  phone 952-992-4459. Dedicated to facilitating access to medical-related services in the form of a medical grant to be used for medical services not covered or not completely covered by commercial health benefits.  


The Robbie Vierra-Lambert Spinal Cord Organization for Regaining Excellence (RVL S.C.O.R.E.) – www.rvlscore.org  Provides advice to newly paralyzed individuals and families including locating PCA’s, transportation and home modifications, peer counseling and education.


National Transplant Assistance Fund – www.transplantfund.org  - They provide assistance for other than transplant issues, and offer fundraising advice.


Shriners’ Hospitals - http://www.shrinershq.org/Hospitals/Main/Admission   phone 800-237-5055. Free care to those who meet eligibility requirements, up to age 18.


Bryon Riesch Paralysis Foundation – www.brpf.org; PO Box 1388, Waukesha, WI 53187-1388 – They provide grants for scholarships as well as financial assistance.


Barren Heights Retreat - http://www.barrenheights.com  While this organization doesn’t provide money, they do provide a mini-vacation for families with exceptional children.  They are a Christian organization – Barren Heights Retreat, KY 502 327-9495.


Challenged Athletes Foundation –www.challengedathletes.org phone 858-866-0959. Provides assistance for challenged athletes to secure equipment, specialized coaching and transportation expenses to events.


Joni and Friends --- www.joniandfriends.org; PO Box 3333 Agoura Hills, CA 91376; phone 818-707-5664  – provides assistance to individuals and resource referrals.


Kevin Kitchnefsky Foundation for Spinal Cord Research – http://www.helpkevinwalk.org/FoundationGrants.html  phone 570-836-1240. Provides special awards designed to help offset the costs of equipment, therapy, caregiver respite, fees and/or medical bills incurred as a result of a spinal cord injury. 


Spinal Cord Injury Special Fund – http://www.scispecialfund.org  phone 949-547-6308. Located in California. Helps California residents with spinal cord injuries maximize their independance in order to achieve life changing results. Examples include assistance with PT or other medically related procedures, assistive technology, equipment, transportation, education, employment.


Wyngs – http://www.wyngs.org  phone 818-267-3031. Their “AIMS” program helps paralyzed individuals with their immediate quality-of-life needs.  WYNGS also offers Peer Counseling and sponsors English and Spanish Support Group Meetings at widespread locations.


Change-a-Life/ Partners in Care – http://www.changealife.org  phone 949-788-9999, and  http://www.picf.org  phone 818-837-3775.  Helps individuals and families who have experienced an injury, illness, or catastrophic life event, and who are suffering financial hardship, by providing support for critically needed direct services that promote their self-sufficiency and improve their quality of life.

Kids Equipment Network – www.tken.org  phone 630-766-0505. They provide wheelchairs for children in the Chicago area.


NTAF – http://www.ntafund.org  “The Leader in Fundraising Assistance and Support for Transplant and Catastrophic Injury”.  Helps patients and their families afford critical but uninsured medically related expenses through fundraising guidance and patient support, as well as financial and other resources.


Jackson Electric Membership Organization - http://www.jacksonemc.com/Grants-Awarded.107.0.html  Provides individual grants related to accessibility issues.


G.O.A.L.S (“Go Out and Live Successfully”) - http://www.goalsinc.net/recentprojects.asp  561-393-0035. Provides individual grants related to accessibility issues.


SCI Hope - http://www.scihope.org The SCI Hope Fund was founded to assist individuals living with spinal cord injuries in ways that will help them gain independence and also to participate in research that will eliminate paralysis.
